Dakota 38 Ride Main
Andrea Eastman, a Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, is consoled by Robin Bowen after they sang a Dakota song that was originally sung on the day of the hanging in 1862. Eastman said, "We are direct descendants of those who were hung. I just got the overwhelming feeling of how they felt, wondering what was going through their minds." She added that they practiced the song at every stop on the Dakota 38+2 Memorial Ride.
