Before leaving for New Zealand one of my last assignments for the Free Press in June was to cover Lake Crystal's Battle of the Bands Parade. Unfortunately for the parade goers a summer thunderstorm cut the event short, but for me it was a fitting farewell as my fascination with weather is what inspired my career as a photographer.
