Courtland Road Washout 2
A strong thunderstorm Friday night washed out 506th Street in Courtland, creating large holes in the road. The road was closed Saturday from about a mile west of 491st street through 511th Street due to flooding. Apple Road south of Highway 68 is also closed, said Dave Ubel, Courtland fire chief. He said it could take three months to open the roads due to the damage caused by 7 inches of rain falling in a two-hour period Friday night. Mudslides were also reported on Highway 68 and several residents had flooded basements and downed trees in yards, Ubel said. Photo by Trevor Cokley
